Education
Ireland was identified in early 2025 as the most educated country globally, with 52.4% of 25-64 year-olds holding a bachelor’s degree or higher, the highest rate worldwide, according to the GHR Consulting Global Tech Talent Guidebook.
In 2023, 84% of all 20–24 year olds in the EU-27 member states had attained at least a higher secondary level of education. Ireland had a rate of 95% of 20–24 year olds with at least a higher secondary level of education, ranking the country joint second with Greece and behind Croatia among EU member states.
South East Technological University
South East Technological University (SETU) has 3 campuses in the South-East region of Ireland. The Waterford and Carlow campuses are located a 60 and 90-minute drive, respectively. SETU’s Summerhill Road Campus in Wexford Town offers a diverse range of courses to both full-time and part-time students. This institution gives prospective companies access to 16,000 third level students with many full-time programmes requiring a minimum of 15 weeks work placement for students each year.
Georgia Southern University
In late 2019, Georgia Southern University opened a campus in Wexford Town. They are the first ever American public university to open an outreach learning centre in Ireland. The campus is located in Old County Hall, former residence of Wexford County Council. The university can accommodate up to 100 students from a variety of academic disciplines and welcomes a number of students from the US to the Sunny South East each year.

Connected Hubs
Connected Hubs is a central driver of the Irish National Hub Network, a Government of Ireland initiative aimed at establishing and strategically expanding a network of interconnected Remote Working Hub facilities throughout the country. Their mission is to harness the full potential of these hubs to make a significant contribution to the revitalisation of Ireland’s towns and villages by nurturing an ecosystem where workers have the freedom to choose where they work and live.
High Performance Building Alliance (HPBA)
In Autumn 2024, the ‘HPBA Green Hub’ flagship innovation centre located in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford opened its doors. It is funded by Wexford County Council and Enterprise Ireland. Located in the A-rated Senan House in Enniscorthy Technology Park, this space will provide opportunities for SMEs to connect with fellow innovators and develop new products and solutions for addressing climate change within the built environment. The Green Hub is ideally located for hosting meetings and events or having a base in the Sunny South East, based just off the N11 with a train line linking Dublin to Rosslare Europort.

The National Broadband Plan (NBP) is the Irish government’s initiative to deliver high speed broadband services to all premises in Ireland. It is the largest ever telecommunications project undertaken by the Irish State and recognised as one of the biggest and most ambitious telecoms infrastructure projects of its kind globally. Keeping rural communities connected and giving extra support to remote workers.
Broadband Connection Points (BCPs) are public locations that have been equipped with high-speed connectivity as part of the National Broadband Plan. These locations have been selected by local authorities and include community centres, libraries, enterprise hubs, tourist destinations, and other public spaces while the full roll-out of the NBP is being implemented.
