Starting life in post-war America, the business was founded by Joseph Fleischhacker Snr to manufacture lures and fishing tackle. Since those early days, it’s been success after success for the company. The acquisition of Lake Region Medical by Greatbatch Medical Inc. in late 2015, led to the creation of Integer Holdings Corp. Integer is now one of the largest medical device outsource (MDO) manufacturers in the world serving the cardiac, neuromodulation, orthopaedics, vascular, advanced surgical and portable medical markets.

Being the county’s biggest employer, Integer is continually recruiting a variety of talent and the site’s strategic location, including access to Rosslare Europort and proximity to the South East Technological University (SETU), supports both its global distribution and ongoing talent recruitment.

With a long-standing reputation for excellence, the company completed a major expansion of their premises in 2024 adding 80,000sq.ft extension to the current facility which is set to increase manufacturing capacity by 70%. This investment of over $60 million will support rising global demand and further strengthen Integer’s position as a key player in the medtech sector, while continuing its impact on patient care and quality of life worldwide.
