Wexford General Hospital is a 280-bedded hospital and is part of the Ireland East Hospital Group (IEHG). Wexford General Hospital provides Inpatient, Outpatient, Day Care, Outreach and Emergency Services.  The hospital provides acute services to the county of Wexford and also provides services to the adjoining counties of Waterford, Kilkenny, Carlow, and South Tipperary and, particularly, maternity services to Wicklow. 

Wexford General Hospital’s Emergency Department is the only ED between St. Vincent’s Hospital – Dublin and University Hospital Waterford on the east coast. It has the second largest Maternity Unit in the South East and continues to provide a broad range of acute hospital services to the county with the largest population in the South East.
